Discover Subway Rat’s Infectious Little Number ‘Lost Without U’

Subway Rat is the eclectic and extremely well-received musical project of New York City-based indie rocker David Polanco. Having only released his debut single ‘Rendezvous’ in April of last year, the artist has already racked up millions of streams on Spotify. On New Year’s Day last year, Subway Rat put out his sophomore album ‘Captain of the Football Team’, and there’s a tune on it called ‘Lost Without U’ that I’ve fallen in love with and would like to introduce you to.

A breakup power-pop stunner, ‘Lost Without U’ worms its way into your head instantly. Infectious guitar riffs and upbeat drums meet Polanco’s raspy, husky vocals to create the perfect balance of nostalgia and modern indie-rock sensibilities. Drawing influence from the likes of The Strokes and The Velvet Underground, but also Talking Heads, 50 Cent, and Pop Smoke, Subway Rat has come up with a sound that echoes the spirit of music experimentation. And we just love it!

A musician who has channelled the heartache of a breakup and a life-altering autism diagnosis into a cathartic and deeply personal sonic experience, David is a true artist in every sense of the word. It’s no wonder the world has taken to his work so rapidly, and we can’t to hear what he has next in store!

Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘Lost Without U’ on Spotify now:
