Delta Fire Debut with Unapologetic, Vibrant Cut ‘Lady Danger’

A chaotic and euphoric piece drenched in retro allure and relatable lyricism, ‘Lady Danger’ marks the debut of Glasgow-based band Delta Fire.

Hear us out; at a time when everyone strives for over-polished records, there’s value in writing a raw old-school track. That’s exactly what Delta Fire did. Hailing from Glasgow, the group made their debut just a few days ago, showcasing their highly playful and rowdy rock imprint. Such a bold and uplifting character weaves together different decades and influences into a distortion-laden, approachable sonic formula. ‘Lady Danger’ is exactly that, a chaotic and euphoric piece drenched in retro allure and relatable lyricism.

On their part, Delta Fire are pretty adamant about some of the bands that have influenced their musical work. For instance, they mention Guns & Roses, ZZ-Top, and Thin Lizzy, an eclectic cocktail of rock royalty that have one thing in common: energy and charisma. They also hold a strong, unapologetic character, a quality that sneakily makes its way into ‘Lady Danger’ as well. Kieron McManus’ vocals are rather striking and minimalistic, here delivered with old-school flair and with a touch of Oasis-esque coolness.

Liam McLaughlin, Andrew Knox-Watson and Aidan Spencer complete the talented lineup. Commenting on their debut track, they explain: “We have been playing live for many months and we felt it was finally time to head into the studio and record our music to tape”. To tape! That’s true dedication to the cause, and that’s also what makes ‘Lady Danger’ so vibrant and gritty. None of that contemporary polish! The piece was recorded at the iconic Glasgow studio Chem19.
