D3lta Returns with Observant, Evocative Gem ‘Kids’

The keen reader might remember Anglo-Greek creative D3lta from a feature we published earlier this year, praising ‘Blabbermouth’ as “packed with vivid, poignant lyricism and a wealth of towering, anthemic instrumental motifs”. We stand by our words: overall, the Athens-based artist champions a rather anthemic and theatrical flair, a highly evocative allure that makes his music incredibly wholesome and meaningful. Such a potent ethos is once again confirmed in D3lta’s latest effort, ‘Kids’.

We must praise the talented songwriter: D3lta really moves with lyrical purpose, penning societal-driven reflections that make listeners think. ‘Kids’ does it too, embracing an observant and critical look at the way social media continuously serves dark content to our youths, truly desensitising them to the most horrific spectacles humanity is capable of. Such hard-hitting words are then framed into an emotional pop-rock cut, a slice of nostalgic and sombre aural matter with an anthemic twist.

Delving deeper into the single, D3lta explains: “The refrain ‘The kids will be alright’ doesn’t arrive as reassurance, but is a chilling mantra of denial, the lie we tell ourselves while the world burns. As what feels heaviest, is knowing that children growing up in places of conflict like Gaza and beyond, have no fault in any of it. They were simply born into circumstances beyond their control, and it feels like we’re sitting back without doing enough to change it.”
