Courtney Hadwin Pays Tribute to Late Ozzy Osbourne with ‘Changes’

Paying a heartfelt and fierce tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne, British rock powerhouse Courtney Hadwin has recently unveiled an evocative, anthemic version of Black Sabbath’s ‘Changes’. Channelling the timeless ballad energy exuded by the original record, Hadwin decides to double down on it, unfurling a stream of stripped-back, evocative goodness with a surprisingly fierce all-band resolution. We can safely say that rock’n’roll is in good hands, with old heroes passing the baton to contemporary ones.

Hadwin’s ‘Changes’ has been recorded live at Decoy Studios in Suffolk, the perfect place to capture such a raw and spontaneous performance. In fact, the live session truly preserves a great deal of nostalgic allure, while showcasing Hadwin’s naturally potent vocals and committed delivery. Honestly, what more could you wish for? Courtney’s jagged, fuzzy tone is an equal match for the material at hand. A heartwarming piano keeps the arrangement quite mainstream and relatable.

Delving deeper into the record, Hadwin explains: “‘Changes’ has always been up there as one of my favourite all-time songs. All I see when I go through my social media comments is ‘cover a Black Sabbath song,’ so I gave it a go on tour a couple months back, and I’ve had messages since saying ‘record it,’ so I thought yanno what, why not!”
