Colourshop Delivers Gentle and Soothing Acoustic Piece ‘Sailing Boat’

Incredibly soothing and gentle, ‘Sailing Boat’ is a song you can lose yourself to. A slice of immersive stillness in an otherwise chaotic reality, the song facilitates a kind and understanding listening experience – perhaps the perfect soundtrack for personal reflection. Built on nostalgic and dreamy acoustic goodness, the record features the quaint acoustic guitar of talented singer-songwriter Colourshop, driving the piece with his luscious, elegant and heartwarming vocals. A feathery drums complete the sonic picture.

Recorded in Barcelona at RoomTo Studio by Jason Boshoff and Oscar Bragado, ‘Sailing Boat’ feels partly pop and partly soul, a mixture of relatable imagery and sweet melodies that are hard to resist. Talking about imagery, the song seeks to draw a parallel between the fragility of a boat, prone to being influenced by winds, waves and weather, and life itself, as the outside world constantly pushes everyone’s existence in a new direction.

As Colourshop eloquently explains: “Life is like a sailing boat, we can’t always go where we wanna go, if the wind does not want us to go in a certain direction, we need to go sideways and make the most of the travel we are doing. Let the wind blow; offer no resistance. Accept that we cannot always have control over things and go with the flow”.
