Collaborations Return with Wholesome Effort ‘You Gotta Know’

Aptly called Collaborations, the Stratford, US-based project is quite self-explanatory. Favouring a highly collaborative and supportive ethos, the talented American group seeks to empower fellow artists and creatives, enabling them to be their best selves. ‘You Gotta Know’ is the perfect evidence of that: penned by Collaborations’ head honcho Ed Daniels, the song was also co-written by guest singer Anais Preller, lending her evocative and soulful voice to the project’s noble cause.

The result is a slice of pure, unfiltered charisma, a piece that flourishes on soul and pop elements, never overpowering Preller’s magical tone and heartwarming, relatable lyricism. The record was produced by Vic Steffens, owner of Horizon Studios, with Matt Oestreicher doing a good job arranging strings. The track also sees Scott Spray (Grammy winner) on bass, Tim Dehuff on lead guitar, Tom Naggy on drums, and Kevin Monroe and Devotion as background singers.

Such a stellar cast does a great job of making ‘You Gotta Know’ a wholesome, hypnotising listening experience. Speaking about the project, Ed Daniels explains: “At the core of Collaborations lies a commitment to authenticity and creative freedom. By providing artists with a foundational theme and structure, the project encourages them to weave their unique perspectives and emotional depth into the fabric of each song.”
