Clarissa Diokno Returns With Eerie Gem ‘haunted’

There is something irresistible in Clarissa Diokno’s latest effort, ‘haunted’. Perhaps her eerie, controlled vocals, painting an enchanting melodious journey. Or perhaps the track’s lyrical theme, drawing inspiration from the idiosyncrasies of our reality. What’s certain though, is that ‘haunted’ represents a definite step up for Diokno, showcasing her ability to explore darker themes with a witty and playful flair, while making sure her sonic backdrop is equally worth it. And it is! Introduced by gentle soundscapes, the track is eclectic as they come, featuring gritty guitars, drum machine-derived beats and acoustic drums.

Overall, a stellar release from the Canadian talent, who’s steadily becoming one of the most interesting newcomers – an achievement that goes hand in hand with her blooming performer career.

Describing the writing behind the song, Clarissa explains: “This song is about trying to take up so much space in this person’s mind until you’re the only thing they think about. You’re haunting them in their dreams. It’s kind of a revenge song. It’s like, you left me, and I’m going to make you regret it.”
