Charming Songstress MINA Returns with Heartfelt Ballad ‘The One That Got Away’

Some of you might remember a past feature we did for London-based RnB and pop talent MINA. Featuring her debut effort ‘Don’t Hold On’, we proudly declared it “a wonderful, charming record”. Now, she returns with a more pensive and evocative number, ‘The One That Got Away’. A heartfelt and classic-sounding ballad, the song describes the pain of a first breakup and the hope of moving on. Through the track, Mina shares the story of how she overcame the idea of having lost ‘the one’, sending a message of resilience and hope to all of those going through a similar experience.

The single was written in collaboration with London composer Nathan Britton, co-arranged by Devonshire Soul producer Brando Walker, and mixed and mastered by Phil Marsden. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Gabrielle, Sade, Norah Jones, and Alicia Keys, Mina’s writing reflects her own experiences with love and heartbreak, allowing her listeners to find solace in her words.

Breakups can be incredibly difficult and can seem like the end of the world, but as Mina’s song reminds us, time heals all wounds and there is much love left in this world. We must find the courage to let go, and realize that pain will always heal with time. ‘The One That Got Away’ is a powerful reminder of this.
