Charlotte OC Flourishes on Euphoric Stunner ‘Romeo’ + Upcoming EP

Exactly two months ago, we were busy writing about Charlotte OC’s long-awaited comeback single ‘God, We Tried’, a piece we described as “a wonderful pop effort”. Slowly but surely regaining her rightful place at the top of British charts, OC has recently returned with another stunning offering, ‘Romeo’, ahead of an upcoming EP, ‘Seriously Love, Go Home’, expected on July 11th. She’s fully back!

Delving into her evocative and anthemic side, Charlotte crafts another wonderful single, a slice of euphoria and fierceness served in a silver-plated, elegant livery. Compared to ‘God, We Tried’, ‘Romeo’ feels rather electrifying and uplifting, with the British songstress embracing a hopeful alt-pop character that’s highly hypnotising and decisively groovy. The production is solid but also quite minimal, with Charlotte OC’s sharp and towering vocals taking the charge both on lead and harmonies. A fuzzy guitar takes the record to a close in the most chaotically stirring goodness.

Lyrically, ‘Romeo’ embarks on a less poignant and melancholic path than its predecessor, switching from the disillusionment of a failed relationship to the revelation and wonder of a new romantic affair. The song also comes with a wonderful music video directed by Stewart Baxter.
