The keen reader might remember Cerys Georgina from a feature we published earlier this year, celebrating ‘DO YOU’ as “delivering two minutes of pure pop euphoria, playful and catchy songwriting with a keen eye on contemporary tones and relatable imagery.” Now, the British songstress is back with another gem, ‘Don’t Call It’, a more nuanced and melancholic offering built on mellow electronic production and soft, elegant vocals.
In it, we can observe Georgina’s poignant side, further enhanced by her rich and vibrant storytelling. Keeping the listeners on their toes through a love-filled saga, Cerys also enjoys a certain minimalism, giving ‘Don’t Call It’ a rather poised and controlled sonic livery. Delving deeper into the inspiration behind the single, Georgina explains: “I came up with this idea early this year – it was inspired by the people I met at work. It has a nostalgic and romantic feel mixed with pessimistic and observational undertones.
