An explosive, melancholic and striking effort, ‘Out of Time’ is metalcore at its best, a slice of metal-powered charisma hitting the listeners hard, all while carrying hints of elegance stemming from BLVCK TOXXINE’s malleable, eclectic vocals. Oscillating between rowdy and roaring screamy sections and more poised, charismatic choruses, the single takes a certain pride in oscillating between two extremes. It’s a meaningful dualism that well mirrors the struggles and chaos of our modern society, especially when it comes to mental health and the way we all deal with it.
Some might describe it as a clash of light and darkness, a constant push-and-pull between despair and frail hope. Whichever way you look at it, there’s no doubt that ‘Out of Time’ represents an impressive debut effort for BLVCK TOXXINE. Hailing from Manchester, the talented singer and songwriter draws inspiration from the likes of Bring Me The Horizon and Spiritbox, among others. She makes the most of decadent, hard-hitting emotional states and crushing guitar distortions.
Delving deeper into the lyricism behind ‘Out of Time’, the talented British artist explains: “We live in a complete hell everyday, but we still can’t get out of it, and we are so attached to time that we believe that we have a sort of deadline and if we don’t get better within a timeframe then we are not capable. This track represents the time and our mental health state corrupted by ourselves and our own thoughts.”
