Bleach the Sky Return with Bold and Brooding EP ‘Wash Away’

Across five tracks, ‘Wash Away’ feels constantly brooding and bold, exuding heightened aural urgency and lyrical melancholy.

Good things come from Craigslist… well, not always, but that’s definitely true for Bleach the Sky. Meeting each other through the infamous online listing service back in 2018, three Boston-based musicians were able to build and develop an artistic project that today unveils its best offering to date. Aptly titled ‘Wash Away’, the EP is the arrival point of a long evolution. From losing their lead guitarist to collecting a series of past jams and old ideas, Zach Kraft on rhythm guitar and vocals, Rahul Srinivasan on drums, and Alex Tighe on bass showcase themselves as an impressively cohesive trio.

Compared to some of their older material, ‘Wash Away’ doesn’t lose much in terms of punch and energy, if ever it gains more when it comes to slickness and just overall dynamism. We feel as though Bleach the Sky are the best they have ever been. Navigating alt-rock and grunge territories with confidence and ease, the American group has timed the release perfectly, coinciding with the TikTok-driven alt-rock resurgence and the public appreciation for emo-coded guitar riffs and heavy matter. Across five tracks, ‘Wash Away’ remains constantly brooding and bold, exuding heightened aural urgency and lyrical melancholy.

Delving deeper into the creative process behind the EP, Bleach the Sky explain: “This is the culmination of all of the jams and writing sessions we’ve had since Covid hit. Over the course of time, both Rahul and, most recently as December 2025, Zach have become fathers, so our lives are so different from what they were 8 years ago. We truly feel that this is by far our best stuff yet and are excited to share it with you all.” We do love the record; it reminds us of Hoobastank, among others. It’s also well recorded and masterfully performed.
