There’s something incredibly intoxicating in ‘Let The Rain’ EP. You see, this is not your average art rock record; it tries to delve deeper into a cathartic space that’s packed with unconventional solutions and heartwarming, evocative melodies. It’s a true work of art, a piece that plays by its own rules. Crafted by Detroit-based outfit Belling The Tiger, the four-song collection moves with theatrical, expressive flair, wrapping us all into the group’s poetic and nostalgic creative universe. What more could you wish for?
Developed in collaboration with composer and lyricist Jeax Couvade, ‘Let The Rain’ EP oscillates between full-band, rock-flavoured efforts and more intimate nuggets of acoustic and experimental goodness. Overall, there’s a great deal of eclecticism in it, and a heightened attention on vocal arrangements and angelic vocal harmonies. In that sense, the contrast between male and female vocals (courtesy of new addition Ani Balau) adds a layer of textures that’s hard to forget.
Speaking about the inspiration behind their work, Belling The Tiger explains: “An emotionally candid and musically literate document of a band coming into focus—artistically, personally, and as a collective.” ‘Let The Rain’ EP provides a worthy listening experience, one that deserves its own time, a still fragment of peace and introspection, to be fully understood.
