It’s interesting how a great song can arise from the most unexpected situations. For pop voyager BAIBA, such a situation was an impromptu, wine-powered jam session with a friend, providing the building block for what would turn out to be a fantastic record, ‘Darkest Hour’. Teaming up with producer Moritz Kristmann, the Austria-based songstress seeks to inspire resilience and authenticity, standing up for ourselves in the face of adversities.
Taken from BAIBA’s upcoming album ‘DELUSIONAL’, ‘Darkest Hour’ provides a fantastic glimpse of what we can expect from the project going forward. A dynamic and lush concoction of synth-pop and dreamy tones, grounded low-end frequencies and angelic vocals – everything screams ‘masterpiece’. Yet, even in such electronic-powered euphoria, one can catch a hint of melancholia, creating enhanced sonic tension that perfectly relates to the single’s lyrical depth.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Darkest Hour’, BAIBA explains: “It is about feeling ready to be happy. We’ve all struggled, been self-destructive, fought our own battles… but that’s okay. There’s always a new wave that washes away the pain, simplifying our existence and reminding us that we’ve already supported and nourished ourselves.”
