AvDiva Unveils Meaningful Dreamy Cut ‘New Road’

AvDiva’s personal experience provides the framing for a rather strong song, highlighting how embracing a renewed version of oneself doesn’t necessarily include changing physical location.

‘New Road’ is one of AvDiva’s most poignant and meaningful releases to date, and one of the most atmospheric and texture-packed. Personally, we loved getting lost in it: the track’s ethereal synths and spacious vocals communicate a heightened sense of escapism, with AvDiva‘s melancholic vocals sharing a strong aural embrace that’s a joy to listen to. That said, the main chorus still maintains a strong hook and melodic outlook.

Overall, it’s been a productive year for the talented songstress and producer, with five original singles being released into the wild. The project’s overall direction seems to be moving toward evocative, relatable lyricism and hypnotic electronic arrangements. ‘New Road’ was influenced by a milestone moment in AvDiva’s own life: considering moving to China and starting a new life, she ultimately decided not to, understanding that a new life could still be kickstarted without geographical upsets.

AvDiva’s personal experience provides the framing for a rather strong song, highlighting how embracing a renewed version of oneself doesn’t necessarily include changing physical location. Often, true change starts within. As we are told: “It is about the moment when you realise that you don’t necessarily need to disappear somewhere far away to become someone new. Sometimes the most important change is internal: deciding what you want, letting go of the version of yourself you were expected to be, and taking a different path.”
