Aussie Talent Hayley Marshall Debuts With Punchy Gem ‘Mania’

Like a lightning in a clear sky, Australian queer newcomer Hayley Marshall rocks our world, adding her peculiar, instantly recognizable pop style to today’s pop landscape. We are pleased to be featuring her debut, the electro, pop-punk-infused gem ‘Mania’. Based in Sidney, the young talent might be a new name for us, but not certainly for her friends and family, who were able to observe her musical prowess since she was 6 years old. Performing and writing has always been somewhat of a big attraction for Marshall. So much so that her first original efforts came at the age of 13, when she started songwriting. Already experienced on stages and under bright lights, we are confident the Aussie pop wonder will soon catch the attention of keen players in the industry.

Echoing a wide range of influences, ranging from Paramore to Miley Cirus, ‘Mania’ wants to rechannel the friendly pop-rock of the early 2010’, boasting big, steady beats, mildly distorted guitars and the right amount of electronica to top it all off. The best thing is obviously Marshall’s vocals, feeling perfectly at home in the context of the track. Boasting a precise and powerful tone, they are the perfect companion for the raw, energetic instrumental, showcasing the many good qualities the NSW resident has to offer. Lyrically, Hayley reckons with her inner struggles, including suffering from bipolar disorder and navigating a world that’s already chaotic as it is.

Overall, a welcoming debut for Hayley Marshall, able to impress us from the first listen. Recommended!
