AURORA BY NOON Share Debut Album ‘Black Crosses in the Sun’

What’s impressed us the most about AURORA BY NOON? probably their unmistakable musicianship, allowing the project to flourish with A-grade recordings and compositions. ‘Black Crosses in the Sun’ is the group’s debut album, and we can tell you with the utmost confidence: it is really, really good. In it, the keen listener will rejoice in the punchy, anthemic and solemn alt-rock material that so greatly characterises the record. If this is anything to go by, AURORA BY NOON will soon be known by a pretty large audience, being their music also the perfect fit for summer festivals and large arenas.

Every ship needs a captain: in this case, the project is guided by Markus Sumereder, a talented producer and musician with a knack for wide and modern rock imprints. ‘Black Crosses in the Sun’ features a plethora of guests and collaborators, some of them having wandered the industry at the highest level. Anyway – too many praises, let’s delve into the record a bit more.

Opening with ‘Dirty Rules, Dirty Game’, the album makes instantly clear what we should expect further on. Tight and punchy drums, modern distortion and clear-cut vocals paired with relatable and pop-infused lyricism. The title track takes a slightly mellower route, showcasing the dynamism and eclecticism Sumereder managed to put together. It is this constant tension between rock compositions and friendly songwriting that greatly enriches the record, making it suitable for a rather wide audience.

Overall, an artistic journey worth taking.
