Audren Pens Personal, Cathartic Gem ‘The Good Road’

A vivid, meaningful and cathartic offering, ‘The Good Road’ is quite a strikingly potent record. From a sonic standpoint, the single presents itself as heartwarming and chill, driving a steady, poised soul-pop rhythm that functions as a dreamy lullaby. Instead, at its lyrical level, ‘The Good Road’ is inherently personal, vulnerable and honest. Embracing her inner fragilities, Audren opens up to the keen listener, realising how crucial it is to connect with others and appreciating the human experience in full.

A talented songwriter and multiple award-winning novelist, Audren crafts ‘The Good Road’ as she usually does with her art, with purpose, meaning, and charisma. That’s what makes the single such a relatable and empowering release. Teaming up with her partner, producer, and renowned jazz guitarist Chris Rime, Audren delivers a gentle, introspective piece, a nugget of elegance and hopeful energy in an otherwise gloomy, decadent reality.

Describing the highly personal creative process that resulted in ‘The Good Road’, Audren explains: “I cried a lot and realised that, within a few years, I had lost so many good things: a part of my capacity for wonder and, most of all, the ability and possibility to trust people. I wrote the song as a cry for help, a universal request for solidarity and support to help each other through transcendent experiences that inspire enchantment and add meaning to our lives.”
