Anna Weatherup Gears Up for Upcoming Album ‘Delusional’

After a successful physical release in October, ‘Delusional’ arrives on all streaming services on March 3rd. This is Anna Weatherup at her best, a triumph of introspective lyricism and bold vocal allure.

Australian readers might recognise Anna Weatherup from a past TV appearance on The Voice, a pivotal moment that allowed her to connect with a like-minded national audience. Years have passed, yet the talented songstress has never lost her unmatched passion for the singing medium, often shifting from acoustic-driven folk-pop goodness to more comprehensive and uplifting country-leaning material. The constant is always one: Anna’s nuanced and dynamic vocals, able to both resonate tenderly or boldly, depending on the vibe. For us, that’s Weatherup’s main strength; she’s able to excel and adapt in a variety of genres and moods.

Recently, we have had the confirmation of that, with the Aussie creative unveiling an electrifying and instrumentally dense new album, ‘Delusional’. The record was unveiled first as a CD, Vinyl and Bandcamp exclusive, with a general digital release set to arrive on March 3rd; literally next week! We were lucky enough to hear a preview of what’s coming, although attentive listeners might have already caught the few singles that can be found on streaming services.

Rock-flavoured cuts such as ‘This Is It’ playfully break with her 2023 acoustic EP ‘Truth’, providing a side of Anna that feels more expansive and energetic, but also more contemporary. It’s a fitting choice for our complex, turbulent times, we’d dare say, also providing a loud and fierce platform from which Weatherup is able to reflect on her personal experience and the many lessons learned in life. ‘Delusional’ is a relatable album, one that speaks to each and everyone of us on an intimate level. What you get is not an abstraction, but a practical guide to living with authenticity and honesty.
