Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice Share ‘Transhumanity’

We appreciate when people come together in the name of art. That’s exactly the case for Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice, a collective and collaborative project guided by vocalist and songwriter Andrea Pizzo and co-writer and wife Raffaella Turbino. Rallying a team of creatives around them, including Riccardo Morello on piano and compositions, and Roberto Tiranti on production, Pizzo manages to build a community-driven project, one that flourishes not so much in its purely musical qualities, but rather in the values that exude from its existence.

‘Transhumanity’ is Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice’s latest release, a rich and eclectic album spanning several genres and influences. From traditional rock to conventional pop, passing through everything in between, the record is not afraid to navigate deep into Western music culture, extending the invitation to a plethora of guest vocalists and contributors. Yet, the relevance of ‘Transhumanity’ particularly extends to its lyricism.

As Pizzo explains: “The album was conceived during years of exploration into themes such as technology, space and the future of humankind. Each track reflects a different perspective: from iconic figures like Ada Lovelace, Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison, to original characters and cosmic storytelling.”
