Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice Return with ‘Come Out Lazarus 2 – Ineffability’

A gifted, visionary collective from Genoa, Italy, Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice continue their conceptual artistic research. Meet ‘Come Out Lazarus 2 – Ineffability’.

The keen reader might remember Genoa-based outfit Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice from a feature we published last year, praising ‘Transhumanity’ as ‘a rich and eclectic album spanning several genres and influences’. Since then, the talented Italian collective has been hard at work, embarking on a brand new artistic saga titled ‘Come Out Lazarus’. ‘Life Is Over’ served as Chapter 1, released on Christmas Day. ‘Ineffability’ is Pizzo’s latest effort, standing as Chapter 2 of that very same saga.

In it, we find the kind of deeply eclectic ethos that makes Andrea Pizzo and The Purple Mice such a uniquely placed project. Introduced by cosmic synth sweeps, ‘Ineffability’ welcomes Raffaella Turbino’s luscious and anthemic vocals, then making its way into a dreamy electro-pop production, all drenched in ethereal soundscapes and a keen nostalgic allure. From a songwriting standpoint, the song continues the storyline that started in Chapter 1.

Delving deeper into the nuanced and meaningful lyricism behind the piece, Andrea Pizzo explains: “Where the first chapter told the story of a fatal accident and an organ donation from the outside, this sequel shifts perspective entirely: here, the listener experiences the near-death event from within. The track follows a heart transplant recipient through the moment consciousness dissolves. pain vanishes, time collapses, and identity expands into something boundless.”
