Alexandra Unveils Introspective Debut EP ‘Let It Burn’

Marking Alexandra’s debut EP, ‘Let It Burn’ feels surprisingly vibrant and heartwarming. The listening experience is friendly and relatable, driven with purpose by the Texan songstress’s charming vocals. An eclectic endeavour, the record effortlessly oscillates between folk, pop and Americana, with each genre taking the charge from time to time. We suspect this is the kind of EP that’s been written naturally and with no rush, simply letting Alexandra’s personal artistry emerge whenever needed.

Packed with introspective storytelling, ‘Let it Burn’ is indeed an intimate endeavour, as the American creative offers a snapshot of the many emotions informing human reality. Yet, the stories told are approachable and friendly: we are confident the EP will connect with a large audience out there. Recorded with fellow artistic duo JST FRNDS, ‘Let It Burn’ exudes a rather timeless character, with Alexandra dipping in and out of a variety of references, including the likes of Sheryl Crow and Stevie Nicks, among others.

Featuring four studio tracks and one live version (‘You’), the EP executes a lyrical post-mortem of the last few years, perhaps a coming of age of sorts, a reckoning with old fears and unreconciled traumas. We hope that such positive artistic work might give Alexandra some closure, perhaps helping her process the reality around her. That’s likely the silver lining behind the whole record: an empowering act of courage and independence.
