Ahead of New Album, Otracami Returns with Meaningful Gem ‘Please’

Otracami returns with a batch of introspective and tender aural goodness, a heartfelt and nuanced dive into personal growth and emotional conflict. ‘Please’ anticipates the project’s forthcoming album, ‘Runoff’.

Having spent the last three years writing songs in New York, talented artist Otracami has recently announced her triumphant comeback, a personal and introspective album steeped in aural catharsis and raw emotional imagery. ‘Runoff’ is due to be released on March 20 via Figure & Ground. ‘Please’ functions as a welcome taster, an anticipation of things to come. Tender, slightly cinematic and lush, the new single introduces itself via a fleeting acoustic guitar, organic instrumental textures, and Otracami’s nuanced, detailed vocals, filled with as much hopeful curiosity as they are of unresolved pain.

Written after “a long, unsteady season of despair”, ‘Please’ describes the hidden relief at being finally alone, reclaiming one’s independence and uncovering intricate emotions. Such a liberating, yet melancholic state of mind also takes centre stage in the overarching album, as Otracami draws her conclusions on a heavy period of personal growth and inner conflict. As a silver lining, her personal experience has now developed into the wonderful musical output displayed in ‘Please’ and ‘Runoff’.

There’s more to come; 2026 is Otracami’s comeback year. Stay tuned!
