Nineteen Sixty-Two Shares EDM Banger ‘Lovable’

‘Lovable’ ventures into bold EDM territories, making good use of chopped vocal samples, trance-inspired arpeggios and a continuous rollercoaster of build-ups and drops.

Is EDM a genre reserved only for young people? Nineteen Sixty-Two doesn’t think so, as he unveils his latest club-oriented offering, ‘Lovable’. An atmospheric house banger, the record follows up on a string of previous releases including ‘I still burn’ and ‘I feel so good’. We are told there’s an album in the making, a sign that the Italian producer is not slowing down anytime soon.

From a sonic standpoint, ‘Lovable’ ventures into bold EDM territories, making good use of chopped vocal samples, trance-inspired arpeggios and a continuous rollercoaster of build-ups and drops. This creates a lively listening experience, something that also comes with a great deal of evocative energy from the featured female vocals. Interestingly, Nineteen Sixty-Two is adamant about not listening to other music in the same genre to preserve his artistic integrity.

Delving deeper into the creative ethos that guides the record, Nineteen Sixty-Two explains: “I generally don’t follow a specific formula when creating my tracks; I often sit down at the keyboards and look for an arpeggio or a melody that inspires me, sometimes I search for a chord progression, and at other times I start with the rhythm and the bassline. I wrote ‘Lovable’ with the intention of getting people to have fun, dance, and experience moments of pure, carefree joy.”
