We’re in the Water AKA Fil OK Completes Album Trilogy with ‘The Dome’

The British creative has been rather productive this year, unveiling a trilogy of albums that together forms a cohesive, purposeful body of work. ‘The Dome’ is the latest and final instalment of that, out now.

As pseudonyms go, We’re in the Water works well in hiding the notable talent behind it. We are referring to acclaimed DJ, artist, musician & co-founder of legendary London superclub Nag Nag Nag Fil OK. The British creative has been rather productive this year, unveiling a trilogy of albums that together forms a cohesive, purposeful body of work. ‘The Dome’ is the latest and final instalment of that, out now.

The aforementioned album trilogy is rather conceptual, yet also relatable and honest, with Fil OK looking outwards at the world around him in February’s ‘The Steeple’, looking at the way people interact with each other in June’s ‘The Belltower’, and now taking a more introspective stand in ‘The Dome’. In a way, he’s dissecting the whole of the human experience, doing so through crepuscular electronica and leftfield influences. Those are records that need time to be fully understood, and we are confident that We’re in the Water’s nuanced work will remain relevant for years to come.

Delving deeper into the meaningful ethos that propels the album trilogy, Fil OL explains: “I’m relieved the trilogy is complete – and I think this album is the most accomplished. It’s been a lot of work, but very enjoyable to make, so all totally worth it in the end. As a whole piece of work it means the world to me – the 36 song cycle is lyrically very personal, and musically incorporates many of my influences and ideas, so it’s a colourful collection of songs that represent me well.”
