‘Incredible’ captured our attention for two reasons: first, its modern and evocative production, tracing a perfect balance between rhythmic and melodic content. Second, its powerful lyrical outlook, something that might be underestimated by some. Penned by Indianapolis-based rapper and creative OTW Kap, the record embraces modern hip-hop allure and transforms it into a contemporary banger.
OTW Kap’s vocals are layered fast and thick, jumping on the beat with absolute confidence. His tone is rather hypnotic, with an elegant cadence that keeps listeners on their toes. We suspect that ‘Incredible’ will connect with a wide audience out there, especially given its short, bite-size length and digestible aural livery.
Delving deeper into the track’s thematic outlook, OTW Kap explains: “‘Incredible’ is about recognising your own potential and stepping into it without permission. I wanted to create something that amps people up the second the beat drops and stays with them long after the song ends.” It’s overall an empowering message which is delivered with a certain nonchalance and kinetic energy. It’s clear that Kap’s intent is not to inspire reflection, but rather to inspire action. Hence, the single is bold, uplifting and gloomy, fully carried by its bouncy, trap-like production.
