LTMAA Debuts with Meaningful Jewel ‘Pain of Us’

Like many others, LTMAA found herself observing some of the dark events in recent US history, wondering what has gone wrong, and what can we do to better our future.

Serving as a hard-hitting debut effort, ‘Pain of Us’ sees American artist LTMAA back on the global music scene with a solo project. Featuring collaborators Omar Waqar on electric sitar and Eddie Grey on bass, as well as on production, the single showcases how LTMAA has certainly not lost her artistic flair; in fact, she may be more receptive than ever. Formerly known as the lead singer of experimental indie band Bebek, the gifted songstress certainly knows what she’s doing.

Guided by LTMAA’s luscious, hypnotic vocals, the song feels expansive and otherworldly, yet also melancholic and cryptic. Like many others, the talented songstress found herself observing some of the dark events in recent US history, wondering what has gone wrong, and what can we do to better our future. Art came to the rescue, and a song was written as a mean of expressing all the grief and pain that was felt collectively around the country.

Delving deeper into the meaningful ethos that propels the track, LTMAA explains: “This song was written about global and collective trauma. It’s about what it means to be a global citizen when there is so much pain and suffering. It’s a call to expand our circles of concern. Influenced by seeing National guard on the streets of DC in the USA and the pain of genocide and how we can change the narrative to silence the truth.”
