The record takes a playful yet striking look at the symbolism of the Japanese Pun ‘Thee Wise Monkeys’, drawing an imaginary line to how desensitised humans have become to evil, especially given the negativity that constantly oozes from the modern 24hr news cycle. As we are told, the song is “exploring voluntary numbness in the face of modern chaos”.
