Horizonte Lied Drop New Remaster for ‘Nuevos Horizontes’ EP

Pioneers of the Mexican dark wave and industrial synthpop scenes, Horizonte Lied have been active for decades, although with a few hiatuses in between. ‘Nuevos Horizontes’ is offered to us in a bold, remastered version.

By now, Horizonte Lied have morphed into a bit of a familiar name on our blog. Last time we featured them was in September ‘25, when we celebrated ‘Oculto En Tus Ojos’ as “a melancholic and bittersweet synthwave cut with a gloomy, intense outlook”. We stand by our words; in fact, such a statement also works as a general manifesto for what the project strives for. Pioneers of the Mexican dark wave and industrial synthpop scenes, Horizonte Lied have been active for decades, although with a few hiatuses in between.

Just like ‘Oculto En Tus Ojos’, the group’s latest release ‘Nuevos Horizontes’ belongs to their ‘Final Remasters’ series, aiming at rediscovering Horizonte Lied’s past catalogue. In it, we are exposed to the Mexican talents’ haunting and noisy sonic character, a nostalgic take on dark wave that will entice a wide loyal audience. Packed with five sombre offerings, ‘Nuevos Horizontes’ feels highly authentic and vibrant, a deep dive into industrial, gritty territories.

Delving deeper into the nuanced philosophical and personal ethos that governs the record, Horizonte Lied explain: “This EP marks a closure of the band’s conflicted past and even beliefs, for example, ‘Tu Enigma’ reflects the philosophy of scepticism and the obsession to challenge past beliefs and conspiracies, which at this stage in our lives is something more complex. Still, it was a key moment in our evolution. ‘Punto Crucial’ is about evading pain and lying to yourself, with a final optimistic message, and ‘Romper una Era’ is more experimental and meditative, the final ode to the band’s internal conflicted past.”
