Litiges! Debuts with Sharp, Potent Cut ‘You’re freaking me out’

Marking the debut act of French musician and songwriter Litiges!, ‘You’re freaking me out’ stands out as a bold and kinetic cut, an unapologetic call for independence and liberation.

‘You’re freaking me out’ is a rather curious offering. From a sonic standpoint, the piece indulges in early ‘2000 indie-rock allure, with dance-inducing drum grooves and sharp guitar riffs creating an energetic, brooding mood, even sort of euphoric at times. Yet, from a lyrical perspective, the song feels meaningful and quite hard-hitting, describing a relationship reaching a breaking point, and the willingness to set oneself free from the shackles of judgment and toxic romance. One might say that ‘You’re freaking me out’ gives you a reason to leave… a detail that’s quite crucial.

You see, behind the record, we find French musician and songwriter Litiges!, boldly drawing from personal experience. Finding himself picking up the pieces after a period of personal turmoil and general chaos, the Strasbourg-based creative makes music for anyone tired of the constant mess around them. Eventually, ‘You’re freaking me out’ feels more like a liberating anthem than anything else, one that we are confident will resonate with a wide audience out there.

Delving deeper into the record and its purposeful storytelling, Litiges! Explains: “This song speaks to those who are tired of having to justify their existence, tired of being judged for who they once were.
It’s an anthem for recognising when it’s time to leave. It’s a song of release, a permission to walk away when things become unbearable.” There’s a music video coming in four weeks, alongside new tracks to be released throughout the year. ‘I wanna be a diamond’ EP is instead due in January 2027. Stay tuned!
