NYC-Based Collective Every Us Shares Wholesome EP ‘Some Kind of We’

Ryan Jones realised that, over the course of human history, music has mainly functioned as a collective experience. Cue Every Us, Ryan’s most dearest gift to the world.

As we dive into New York collective Every Us, we can’t help but be mesmerised (as we do!) by the project’s overall creative ethos. Guided by singer and songwriter Ryan Jones, the group is the result of a lifelong experience of international travel, a profound communal experience that caused Jones to arrive at a solemn realisation: music is meant to be done and performed with others. This is a rather crucial and meaningful message, especially in our overly digital era, where some folks prefer hiding in a practice room, perhaps constantly playing to a backing track.

Jones shuffles that very same script, pushing his artistry outwards, involving a like-minded cast of talented musicians and creatives. Having lived in Brooklyn, London, Shanghai, Chiang Mai, and Pittsburgh, the American voyager was able to experience music practice at a holistic level, realising that, over the course of human history, music has mainly functioned as a collective experience. Cue Every Us, Ryan’s most dearest gift to the world. ‘Some Kind of We’ is the first EP to emerge from the project, a whirlwind of influences and styles that paints a truly hypnotic picture: people together can make magic.

Highly eclectic and wholesome, ‘Some Kind of We’ embarks on an uplifting and catchy aural journey, oscillating between soulful, wholesome vibes and more contemporary electro-pop influences. Vocalists Olivia Reid, Sherrod, Sandstrom, and Amara help the EP connect with a wide array of listeners and moods. It’s a triumph!
