Jex Ayla and Michel Jaensch Team Up on Anthemic Cut ‘Battlefront’

‘Battlefront’ provides a striking look into Jex Ayla’s introspective, meaningful artistry, as she teams up with producer Michel Jaensch on an epic cinematic anthem.

Haunting and cinematic, ‘Battlefront’ sounds incredibly epic and anthemic, a slice of brooding alt-pop drenched in bold, punchy beats and melancholic textures. The overall vibe is rather hypnotic, the sort of composition that could very well function as a movie soundtrack, especially to highlight a particularly fierce and pivotal moment. In fact, the song is rather meaningful, especially for its author, Switzerland-based singer-songwriter Jex Ayla. Teaming up with German producer Michel Jaensch, the talented songstress pens a personal, relatable piece.

Drawing from personal experience, Ayla embarks on an empowering journey among vulnerability and authenticity, slowly uncovering the complex emotions that often follow a messy breakup. The song further shines thanks to Jex’s potent and luscious vocals, here enjoying a great deal of elegant and nuanced melodies. Michel Jaensch does a great job on the production, providing a fitting aural counterpoint without overpowering the record. The sonic alchemy between the two creatives works flawlessly.

Delving deeper into the inspiration behind the record, Ayla explains: “I wrote the lyrics from two perspectives: the vulnerable part that feels abandoned, and the fierce part that refuses to break. After a breakup, it can feel like someone conquered you just by walking away. But we’re never just one thing. We’re layered: light and dark, strength and grief. ‘Battlefront’ is about confronting yourself when there’s no one left to fight.” We suspect listeners will strongly relate to such powerful and introspective lyricism.
