Blair Coyle Returns with Meaningful Piece ‘Down The Line’

‘Down The Line’ is a cathartic, hypnotic cut wrapped in honesty and vulnerability, a slice of meaningful aural matter delivered by Coyle’s deep, resonant vocals.

A cathartic, hypnotic cut wrapped in honesty and vulnerability, ‘Down The Line’ slowly unfolds an intense yet tender listening experience, a slice of meaningful aural matter delivered by Blair Coyle’s deep, resonant vocals. Hailing from Victoria, Canada, the talented singer and songwriter engages in crepuscular indie-folk tones, showcasing his production skills in the process. A wealth of cinematic grooves and textures help the song reach its artistic zenith, all the while carrying a great deal of elegance and luscious character. Honestly, it’s a great record.

What’s even more impressive is how Coyle went about writing and recording the track, doing it all in classic bedroom pop allure. The end result is a piece that feels relatable and poignant, but also rather peculiar and mysterious, a track that flourishes in between the mainstream and the leftfield. ‘Down The Line’ also marks Blair’s timely comeback to the global music landscape, following up from last year’s EP ‘Apostasy Anthems’. It’s been a year since the latter release. Temporarily leaving behind his usual Americana/Folk organic flair, Coyle is looking for new creative grounds.

He might have just found it! ‘Down The Line’ is a welcome discovery. Delving deeper into its lyrical imagery, the Canadian musician explains: “It is a letter written to an estranged family member whom I’ve had to go no contact. It’s an honest one-sided conversation that reassures the other person that I care about them, and I do hope for future reconciliation.” Firm yet understanding, the record will definitely relate to a lot of peeps out there, especially during such turbulent, divisive times.
