D3PRT Returns with Heavier Dance Episode ‘Ten’

‘Ten’ picks up from where ‘FrGrry’ left off, albeit with a heavier and bolder character. Cinematic and melancholic textures are masterfully laid above a UK Garage, Dubstep-esque beat.

UK-based producer and visionary D3PRT is currently enjoying a rather productive artistic streak. Debuting back in January with ‘You Will Never Know’, the British creative has then followed that up with ‘FrGrry’, a piece we previously celebrated as “the kind of track that emerges victorious in alternative late-night dancefloors and haunting listening parties”. We stand behind our words; D3PRT possesses the peculiar skill of navigating the eclectic border between the mainstream and the leftfield, crafting records that are able to co-exist in a variety of settings. ‘Ten’ is another striking example of that.

Marking D3PRT’s latest release, the record picks up from where ‘FrGrry’ left off, albeit with a heavier and bolder character. As is frequent in the artist’s catalogue so far, we are confronted with a strategic blend of cinematic and melancholic textures above a UK Garage, Dubstep-esque beat. It’s a formula that’s worked very well so far, making the listening experience deeply meaningful and evocative, yet never letting the kinetic energy die down. In that sense, ‘Ten’ functions as a listening and dancing track at the same time.

Crowning it all, we find a fast-paced, dynamic MC vocal sample in true British fashion. The addition of a lyrical element gives the record a whole new dimension, one that will likely appeal to the old school breakbeat lovers out there. It’s clear that D3PRT holds an extensicve knowledge on the UK rave and dance music scenes. Such wisdom is now put on full display in ‘Ten’.
