Discover Strange Fruit’s Hypnotic, Quirky Aural Universe with ‘Monopolar’

‘Monopolar’ is an aural black hole that has swallowed us whole, a chaotic psychedelic trip with a hazy aftertaste.

What did we get ourselves into? ‘Monopolar’ is an aural black hole that has swallowed us whole, a chaotic, psychedelic trip with a hazy aftertaste. It’s the kinda record people vibe hard with, a cathartic tool for escapism that’s also some of the freshest music we have come across lately. Behind its cosmic, shoegaze arrangements, ‘Monopolar’ hides Jakarta-based outfit Strange Fruit, a group of courageous sonic explorers blending guitar euphoria with hypnotic electronica.

Originally formed in 2012, the band consists of Baldi Calvianca (vocals), Irza Aryadiaz (synthesizers), John Tampubolon (guitar), Nabil Favian (bass), and Dino Kristianto (drums). ‘Monopolar’ is taken from Strange Fruit’s upcoming album ‘Drips’.
