If we ever had to explain the meaning of ‘bop’ to a normie, we’d probably pick ‘A Little Bit Sad’ as a fitting example. The record has it all: infectious vocal hooks, hypnotic production, a relentless sense of positivity, and dance-inducing kinetic charge. What more could you wish for?
Hailing from Stockholm, The Parade define themselves as an experimental pop group, a title that well speaks to the boundary-pushing and playful allure shared by the Swedish trio. Featuring John Andersson (aka Zoo Brazil) and Jonas Edquist on the production, and Felicia Morfelt on vocals, the project likes to navigate the quirkiest fringes of 80s and 90s pop music, together with a keen sheen of dream pop and light psychedelic textures.
‘A Little Bit Sad’ comes off the back of an album announcement. ‘City of Dreams’ is due to be released March 13th via Nettwerk, a record that closes a productive three-year chapter, one originally kickstarted by the fan favourite ‘I’m a Dreamer’ in 2023.
