Texan musician and songwriter Dash Williams is kickstarting 2026 the right way, debuting a solo project that has long been in the making. In truth, his life has been a continuous jump into creative musical practice, including a previous militancy in a now-disbanded group, Past Life. If ever, Williams commitment to sharing music with the world is evidence of his deep-rooted artistry. Going by the moniker Dash House, the new project sees the San Marcos-based sonic wizard engaging in a fresh blend of synth-pop, nostalgic allure, and hints of psychedelic bonanza.
‘Vitamins’ is exactly what one would expect from our previous description: uplifting, bright and catchy, the piece will likely resonate with both a pop-leaning crowd and a more alternative one, the perfect balance between accessibility and leftfield genius. Citing influences such as Tame Impala and M83, among others, Dash House reveals itself as a connoisseur of the cultural landscape around him. That’s how we get such a plastic and dynamic arrangement, with Parker-esque phasing and filtering laying the groundwork for a charming sax solo, here performed by Anthony Massucci.
Williams’ vocals are surprisingly effective and light, dancing over the instrumental with charisma and melodic precision. Angela Williams also features on backing vocals. Taking a step back and looking at ‘Vitamin’ through a lyrical lens, it’s interesting to notice the contrast between a seemingly playful aural livery and a deeper lyrical meaning. As Dash House explains: “This song is about change: realising you need change, starting the incremental process of changing things for yourself, and then recognising it when you start seeing some of the rewards that change inevitably brings.”
