Muse to Sirens Challenge Our Aural Senses in Obscure Cut ‘Glass Wings’

‘Glass Wings’ is a record that wants to challenge the listeners. Steeped in dissonant metal-influenced soundscapes and lamentous, eerie vocals, the track feels as dark and obscure as it could be, perfectly mirroring the destructive chaos of our modern society. In a way, ‘Glass Wings’ seeks to appeal to our deepest fears, creating a temporary aural space where we are welcome to abstract and reflect. Heavily distorted guitars and cinematic textures help convey such a potent message while highlighting the otherworldly nature of vocalist Vanity Ladner.

Together with fellow creative Joseph Dreaming, Ladner is the driving force behind Muse to Sirens, a project that places itself at the intersection of doom metal and sirencore. It’s obvious how this is not a record for everyone; in fact, it’s pretty niche and fringe, only the boldest and most courageous (or dystopian) music lovers out there will be able to dive into it. It’s also the kind of record that wants to shatter pre-conceived formulas and popular trends, instead delivering a never-heard-before aural imprint that’s hypnotic and immersive.

Hailing from Pennsylvania, US, Muse to Sirens explain: “I wanted to showcase the psychological breakdown many of us have felt due to overwhelming internal and external factors that seem out of our control. It’s through resistance and expulsion of fear of powerlessness that becomes our strength.”
