Kallemi Debut with Meaningful, Authentic Piece ‘One Day’

A highly collaborative and forward-thinking outfit, Kallemi have already made a name for themselves in the international live circuit, catching the attention of passionate audiences across Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Palestine, the UK, and beyond. Built on the artistic partnership between musicians Jasmin Albash, La Nefera, Maysa Daw, and Rasha Nahas, Kallemi was initially part of an exchange project by Kaserne Basel, an intercultural effort that would tie an imaginary link between Basel and Ramallah, via Haifa and Berlin.

Little did they know, the creative synergy would prove so strong to spark a conscious collective research, one that would then bring Kallemi (Arabic for ‘Speak‘ in the feminine voice) onto a debut release. ‘One Day’ is out now, and it’s the perfect evidence of the heightened eclecticism and culturally rich premise behind the project. Oscillating between Spanish, Arabic, and English lyrics, the record feels nocturne and intimate, yet also intense and hypnotic.

It’s certainly meaningful, as Kallemi eloquently explains: “We are all searching for something we call home. There are many different meanings to the word, but for us, it’s a place where we’re surrounded by people we love, and who love us back. We’ve noticed that as we grow older, the feeling of being lost in the world starts to fade. But you really have to look for that sense of belonging. Be courageous, discover your own path; it’s worth it.”

There’s a debut EP in the works for early 2026 – stay tuned!
