Samuel Campoli Gears Up for Upcoming EP with Jangly, Psych Cut ‘Every Time’

I like the way Campoli thinks. He’s quite adamant about his disinterest in following certain trends or pre-conceived formulas. He’s not writing music for anyone specifically, just making art that he’s proud of and that he personally resonates with. For that, I must praise the American troubadour and musician. The keyword here is authenticity; a.k.a. honesty, a.k.a. vulnerability. Samuel is not afraid to share quirky and unique music goodness with anyone in need of it. I need it, I really do – especially after having to write about a string of mainstream pop records.

Nothing wrong with them, but I am keen on more niche and leftfield stuff now. ‘Every Time’ does the job well, providing a listening experience that’s not totally out there, still gentle and relatable. We can then observe Campoli entering psych and indie territories with a certain haziness and dreaminess, at least regarding the spacious guitar tones and the overall feverish vibe. What more could you wish for? Steeped in catchy melodies and friendly, personal lyricism, ‘Every Time’ is the perfect meeting point between retro-flavoured jangly pop and purposeful psychedelia, a feature that makes Samuel Campoli an eclectic, inventive musician.

Delving deeper into the single, the Brooklyn-based figure explains: “I don’t really have interest in trying to fit it into what people want or following trends or anything like that. It’s a deeply personal experience for me, and in releasing it, my only goal is to find the people who could enjoy it or relate to it.” ‘Every Time’ is part of Campoli’s upcoming EP, expected on December 6th.
