Matt Saxton Unveils Nostalgic, Introspective Album ‘Feel It Again’

It’s been a while since we wrote about Matt Saxton. Since June 2024, when we proudly celebrated ‘The Edge of Things’ as a “nostalgic yet hopeful gem”, a statement that we stand behind. In fact, it’s become a bit of a rule in Saxton’s artistic universe. You see, the English troubadour champions a highly meaningful and evocative outlook, drawing from personal experience and romantic allure with keen curiosity and malleable melodism. It’s a formula that works, as Matt’s two million streams on Spotify alone clearly showcase.

Saxton hasn’t been quiet this year either; after a string of singles, he’s now proudly unveiling his latest album, ‘Feel it Again’, a record that’s incredibly introspective and deep. Perhaps it’s a sign of the British creative’s heightened wisdom; having now reached a comfortable age, Matt is able to look back at his past with understanding and calmness, penning tender, gentle songs that are a joy to listen to. Such potent songwriting is then wrapped into a vintage rock and country-pop ethos, the perfect match for Saxton’s smoky, earthy vocals.

Delving deeper into the album’s title track, Matt explains: “In the photograph we look so young, time was on our side and the story just begun” – referring to the record’s artwork, an old photograph of him with his wife. Overall, the impression around ‘Feel It Again’ is of a timeless record, a significant and reflective body of work that carries a great deal of importance for Saxton himself.
