CS Hellman Supercharges His Sound in Latest EP ‘In My Head’

2025 has turned out to be quite the comeback year for CS Hellman. Back in full force and with a strikingly good catalogue to share with the wider world, the American creative has been unveiling single after single with heightened charisma, evolving his sound towards a more cinematic, expansive direction. ‘In My Head’ is the perfect example of that. Packed with incredible textures and hypnotic vocal harmonies, the piece feels lush and ethereal, but also gloomy and intense. It’s a constant push and pull of forces, a chaotic battle of contrasting elements.

Such a complex ethos perfectly fits the track’s lyricism, an intimate tale of resilience and introspection steeped in mental health and personal challenges. As Hellman explains: “It speaks to the restless dialogue between ambition and reality. It’s the sound of being caught between the dream and the day-to-day, of watching the grind slowly erode your sense of wonder while still reaching for it anyway. It’s about trying to hold onto that spark, even when the world feels determined to dim it.” We actually relate to that; it’s easy to get lost in the daily hustle, losing touch with the big picture and one’s long-term plans.

Alongside ‘In My Head’, the EP contains ‘Love I Left Behind’, once again a personal and more evocative song, one that focuses on Hellman’s own struggles with alcohol consumption. Frequent collaborator Jared Corder is once again on production duties, helping CS reach a truly groundbreaking milestone.
