Back from a long hiatus – their previous single dating back to 2021 – eclectic musical outfit Omnesia are back today with ‘Days and Nights’, a piece that’s steeped in personal experience and inspired lyrics, once again furthering the project’s eclectic and committed artistic freedom. You see, Omnesia don’t follow any pre-conceived trend or a specific formula; simply, they move towards authenticity and honesty, veering towards genres and songwriting themes that resonate with them. We love such a carefree attitude; it’s a bold ethos these days.
Overall, ‘Days and Nights’ finds welcoming refuge in melodic pop-rock goodness framed into an anthemic and catchy production, with androgynous vocalist Medella Kingston’s luscious vocals perfectly complementing the production prowess of guitarist M2. Together, the Oakland-based duo represents the creative core behind Omnesia. On this occasion, they are joined by a talented line-up of musicians, including composer and multi-instrumentalist Eric Slick (ex-drummer for Adrian Belew and Ween).
Delving deeper into the record, Omnesia explain: “This song came from the heart, from the personal life events of sadness and being away from a loved one, and anticipating and enjoying their return. It was just another offering from the muse.” Well, we are happy that their musical muse has been so graceful and productive! ‘Days and Nights’ ships with a retro-flavoured music video, and is also part of a forthcoming 17-track album, ‘Future Vintage’. Stay tuned!
