In fact, we are pretty sure the record hypnotised us for a few minutes, such is the intensity of Uniah’s borderless artistry. It’s also bold and fearless: the Norwegian creative is digging her own path, occupying a cultural space that’s uniquely hers. It takes courage to do that. She’s effectively screaming into the void with music never heard before.
The good thing is that people are responding to it. Not everyone, as mentioned – just the more sensitive and reflective folks out there (such as ourselves, a music outlet called Mesmerized). We truly rejoiced in ‘Hallucia’. The track wraps listeners into a whirlwind of cinematic and leftfield textures, cathartic noises, and Uniah’s own vocals, with a tone that’s both prophetic and eerie. It’s a feverish daydream steeped in pure escapism.
