Discover Heartwarming Americana in Ceretana’s Latest Album ‘Champagne’

If you are in the mood for some heartwarming, nostalgic Americana, you can’t possibly go wrong with Ceretana. Hailing from the montaineous lands of New Fairfield, CT, the talented duo features Chris Mignanelly and Marty Moran, like-minded songwriters and visionaries with a knack for relatable, meaningful material steeped in the ordinary and the beauty around it. ‘Champagne’ marks the pair’s third album, a long record packed with twelve wistful, tender tracks.

In truth, ‘Champagne’ inhabits many moods and emotional states; from the harmonica-laden country goodness in ‘Barrom Elegy’ to the acoustic folk yearning of ‘Think of Me’, passing through piano-powered ballads such as ‘Oh No’. There’s something for everyone in it, with the album’s overall character unravelled by Ceretana’s brooding, relatable vocals. Mignanelly and Moran reflect on the past with hope and gratefulness, all seen through highly reflective theming.

Delving deeper into the album, the pair explains: “Our goal with ‘Champagne’ was to identify and celebrate the beauty in impermanence. These songs are about the moments that shine, even after they fade.” Out now via Loose Freight Records, ‘Champagne’ was recorded during sessions taking place in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Oregon, a feature that deeply connects with Ceretana’s wandering spirit. Overall, this is a fantastic album, a record that’s simple but substantial, the perfect companion for anyone open to introspection.
