‘constellation’ is the most “French-informed record from a non-French artist” we have ever come across. Penned by San Francisco-based producer and creative lansification, the album is a bold and vibrant jump into the likes of French Touch and synthwave, uncovering an aural picture that’s incredibly nostalgic, luscious, and elegant. Blending retro synths with deep house sensibilities and vibrant dance beats, the record oscillates between easy-listening gems and club cuts, in what appears to be a highly eclectic offering.
Packing ten wondrous pieces, ‘constellation’ is primarily inspired by lansification’s dyslexic perception, particularly focusing on building complex patterns and wholesome motifs. It’s a rather successful goal, as the album develops gradually over a wealth of interesting synth and vocal harmonies. There’s an angelic quality to it all, a ‘floating’ character that makes the whole release quite hazy and dreamy, even otherworldly.
Delving deeper into the record and his overarching artistic ethos, lansification explains: “This release is inspired by my experience with dyslexia. Studies show dyslexia disorder can sharpen auditory perception, spatial reasoning, and musical pattern recognition, traits I channel directly into my sound.” For anyone based in San Francisco, the talented producer is set to perform on October 11 at Frontier Tower.
