Aitis Band Get Ready for Upcoming Album with Lofi, Jagged Piece ‘Dan’

The keen reader might remember our recent piece about New York-based creative outfit Aitis Band. Celebrating ‘He’s Great’, we proudly declared it as “pursuing a unique aural path bordering electronica, leftfield, gritty pop jams”. Such an eclectic formula provides the foundational quality and the ethos behind the project, as Bobby Burg, Melina Ausikaitis, and Ray Borchers continue their longstanding quest for the unconventional.

The trio struck sonic gold once again on ‘Dan’, a noisy, lo-fi piece packed with fuzzy distortion, jagged synthetisers and melancholic guitars. A stream of haunting yet charming spoken words highlights Aitis Band’s relentless stream of consciousness. As the group explains: “‘Dan’ is a handful of those memories that pop up every year or two. The ones that make you feel weird or wonder if you might have been in love. Our response is like, ‘oh yeah yeah yeah’. Joe Pankowski’s music video of playful drawings depicts this series of random moments, filtering them through words and lines.”

The single is featured on the upcoming album ‘AITIS BAND – IV’, out October 10 via Ernest Jenning Record Co.
