Fallin’ Astronauts Gear Up for Upcoming EP with Vibrant Cut ‘Higher’

Ahead of their upcoming EP release, aptly titled ‘MONO’, Vienna-based indie pop duo Fallin’ Astronauts have unveiled a number of singles, all nuggets of evocative energy with lush production and meaningful songwriting. ‘Higher’ is the perfect example of that. Having caught our undivided attention, the piece benefits from an anthemic, bubbly character, a vibrant pop-lenient aura that goes a long way in showcasing Fallin’ Astronauts’ heightened sonic allure.

Championing what we’d call ‘functional minimalism’, the Austrian group manages to blend a kaleidoscopic, potent arrangement with introspective, heartfelt songwriting, yet never succumbing to sensationalism or obvious cinematic solutions. Lead vocalist Maximiliam Hamedinger gives the track a great deal of elegance and escapism, while guitarist Emil Breit develops expansive tones soaked in reverb and soft distortions.

Delving deeper into the inspiration behind ‘Higher’and its overarching EP, Fallin’ Astronauts explain: “With MONO, we wanted to strip everything back to the core, to create something that feels raw, honest, and unfiltered. It’s our debut, but more than that, it’s the first time we’re fully sharing our sound and vision. MONO stands for singularity: not just being one, but being whole”. It’s an impactful mission statement; feel free to check out the three other singles from the Austrian pair, and look out for the EP to be released shortly. Stay tuned!
