We appreciate it when two talented creatives get together, especially when they hold different aural visions, thus having to compromise into a newly-found, eclectic artistic formula. That’s exactly the case of Jomoon and Risentimento. Hailing from Italy, the pair has been working together on a couple of remixes, the first being ‘(Sole) Germogli’, and the second one, more recent, being ‘(Luna) Conversazione’. The latter piece, a wonderful and expansive slice of leftfield electronica, is the one that mostly captures our attention, pairing Risentimento’s introspective, nuanced vocals with Jomoon’s boundary-pushing sonic explorations.
The result is a kaleidoscopic, hypnotic track; hazy, synth-powered goodness framing Risentimento’s imaginative lyricism into a whirlwind of textures and striking beats. We should praise Jomoon’s production prowess: the Italian producer and composer does a great job on it, truly showcasing her unique, cathartic musical sensibility.
Delving deeper into the inspiration behind ‘(Luna) Conversazione’, Jomoon explains: “It’s a project that means a lot to me both musically and emotionally. This remix is a meeting point between two worlds: the intimacy and poetry of Italian songwriting and my own universe of electronic/IDM production.”
