The single starts on the right foot, with a flurry of liminal and hazy guitar tones, all drenched in notable distortions. Drums and otherworldly female vocals join the party soon after, making for an aural concoction that’s lush yet jagged, expansive yet intimate.
Taken from mall goth’s second EP, ‘Heather’s Exit’ exposes the vast and untapped potential of the American outfit, and while they do also oscillate towards lighter, indie-oriented offerings (such as ‘Marionette’), their overall outlook is certainly enigmatic and sombre.
